In this lesson, you can work with 10 Russian letters denoting consonant sounds. These letters may look similar for English speaking people, but most of them sounds quite differently from English letters.
Russian letters К, М, and Т look and sound very similarly as compared to respective English letters. The Russian letter С look and sound like the English C, but it never denotes the sound [k]. Letters В, Н, Р, Х look like English letters, but they denote quite different sounds. Letters З and Ч have common traits with numbers 3 and 4, respectively. As a rule, the basic meaning of a consonant letter is the consonant sound which forms the name of this letter.
